Come Home To Yourself

A compassionate space for courageous self-inquiry - where you can be seen, meet yourself honestly, and gently shift the ways of being that no longer serve you.

The name Arbor Vitae, or Tree of Life, reflects the essence of my coaching philosophy: growth, integration, and connection.

Arbor Vitae Coaching

I'm an ontological coach.

This means I'm less interested in helping people fix themselves and more interested in helping them understand themselves.

Many of us have spent years becoming who we thought we needed to be—good partners, good parents, successful professionals, caretakers, achievers—only to wake up one day wondering where we went.

My work is creating a space where people can slow down, question the stories they've inherited, reconnect with their own wisdom, and discover what is genuinely true for them.

I don't believe people are broken and need fixing. I believe they often lose contact with themselves.

I help them find their way back.

We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are”. Anais Nin

What Is Ontological Coaching?

It is the practice of exploring how we see ourselves, others, and the world.

Together we examine the stories, assumptions, beliefs, and patterns shaping your life.

Not to replace them with mine, but to help you discover what is genuinely true for you.

I don't offer formulas.

I don't provide answers.

I create a space where your own wisdom can emerge.

You May Be Here Because...

• You feel disconnected from yourself.

• A relationship, transition, or loss has changed how you see your life.

• You feel stuck between who you've been and who you're becoming.

• You've spent years caring for everyone else and no longer know what you want.

• Something inside you is asking for a deeper, more authentic way of living.

My Role…

I am not a guru or an expert on your life.

I am a companion in inquiry.

A witness to your unfolding.

Someone who walks beside you as you reconnect with your own knowing.

You could say I help people find their way back to themselves.

Lisa Brosseau, M.Ed., is the founder of Arbor Vitae Coaching and trained as an Ontological Coach. Originally from the United States, Lisa now lives in British Columbia, Canada, where she continues learning from the natural world and her ongoing work with Sheba, her horse.

The older I get, the less interested I become in:

  • certainty

  • in fixing people

  • in being the one with the answers.

What interests me now is:

  • how we learn to listen more deeply

  • how we recognize the stories that are not ours.

  • how we find the courage to become who we already are.

My path to coaching has been shaped by relationships, loss, reinvention, spiritual inquiry, and the profound lessons I've learned from horses.

Again and again, life has shown me that the answers we seek cannot be given to us.

They must be discovered.

This understanding led me to ontological coaching.

I believe every person possesses an innate wisdom that often becomes obscured beneath expectations, conditioning, fear, and self-doubt.

My work is creating a space where that wisdom can re-emerge.

Not through advice.

Not through fixing.

But through curiosity, inquiry, reflection, and authentic conversation.

Because while no one can answer life's deepest questions for us, neither were we meant to ask them entirely alone.

The answers you seek may not be out there.

They may just be waiting beneath the noise.
